Practice Makes Perfect

Sergio Garcia has agreed to endorse the Putterball, a teaching and training aid for putting. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. Garcia was filmed recently at the PGA Tour stop at Riveria CC with the training aid and it will be incorporated into an infomercial. "I practice with it all the time," Garcia said of the Putterball. "It has improved my putting by improving my stroke and my focus on the ball as I putt." According to Carbite Golf, which owns Putterball, it is being used by more than 100 touring pros.

The training aid has the structural features of a standard putter, except that it has a stainless steel sphere the size of a golf ball attached to the shaft where the putter head is normally found. The product is designed to accentuate any errors in a player's stroke. Any mis-hits off the sweet spot will go dramatically off line, producing immediate feedback to the player.
