Senior PGA: LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Dec. 1) -- Bob Gilder grabbed a spot on the Senior PGA Tour on Friday, shooting a 1-under-par 71 for a seven-stroke victory in the qualifying tournament.Gilder, a six-time winner on the PGA Tour who turns 50 on Dec. 31, had a 19-under 198 total on the Eagles Pines course. He earned $42,000.The low 16 finishers in the 72-hole event received 2001 tour cards, with the top eight getting full exemptions.Terry Mauney and Bill Holstead closed with 70s to tie for second, and Steve Veriato and Bobby Walzel followed at 277.Five players tied at 278, forcing a playoff for the final three fully exempt spots. Sammy Rachels took the sixth position with a birdie on the second extra hole, and Jesse Patino and Mark Hayes had pars to grab the other two full exemptions.Mike Smith bogeyed the second playoff hole to finish ninth, and John Shroeder bogeyed the first extra hole to end up 10th.There was a six-man tie for 11th place at 279, with Todd Peterson taking the No. 11 spot with a birdie on the first hole of a playoff. Ted Goin ended up 12th, followed by Jim Holgrieve, Yoshitaka Yamamoto, Kurt Cox and Hugh Baiocchi.Jerry Tucker, Fritz Gambetta, Michael Zinni, Tom McGinnis and Jim White tied for 17th at 280.
