Dale Reid, Captain Scotland¹s Dale Reid, a 20-year LET member and four-year LPGA member with more than 20 international victories, is the captain of the 2000 European Solheim Cup Team. Reid played on the European Solheim Cup Team in 1990, 1992, 1994 and 1996, posting a 4-6-1 record. Reid, a native of Ladybank, Scotland, and current resident of Ashtead, England, turned professional in 1979. She has captured 21 victories on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and finished first on the Order of Merit in 1984 and 1987. Her last victory came in 1991 at the Bloor Homes Eastleigh Classic. Her best performance of the 1999 season came at the 1999 Ladies Austrian Open, where she finished second. Reid, along with Pamela Wright, represented Scotland in the 1992 World Team Championship in Taiwan. Her streak of 40 consecutive cuts made came to an end at the 1996 Guardian Irish Open. Reid played on the LPGA Tour from 1996-99, with her best finish coming at the 1997 SAFECO Classic, where she finished tied for fourth. Her LPGA career-low round of 66 came during the final round of the 1997 CoreStates Betsy King Classic in what was her most successful LPGA season. Prior to turning professional in 1979, Reid was a finalist at the 1974 Scottish Girls¹ Championship, the 1977 French Girls¹ Championship and the 1978 Scottish International. She is still actively playing on the LET.
