Method of Play: Stroke-play, four rounds of 18 holes. Following the first 36 holes of play, the field will be reduced to the 70 players having the lowest scores and those tied for 70th place. Those players will advance to complete the final rounds. In the event of a tie for first place after 72 holes, there will be a sudden-death playoff.

Rules and Regulation: The Rules of Golf which govern play are determined by the United States Golf Association and applied by the PGA of America Board of Directors.

Eligibility:

  • All former PGA Champions
  • Winners of the last five U.S. Opens (1995-1999)
  • Winners of the last five Masters (1995-1999)
  • Winners of the last five British Opens (1995-1999)
  • The current 1999 PGA Seniors’ Champion
  • The low 15 scorers and ties in the 1998 PGA Championship
  • The 25 low scorers in The 1999 PGA Club Professional Championship
  • The 70 leaders in official money standings from the 1998 Buick Open through the 1999 Canon Greater Hartford Open
  • Members of the 1997 United States Ryder Cup Team
  • Winners of tournaments co-sponsored or approved by the PGA Tour from the 1998 PGA Championship to the 1999 PGA Championship (does not include pro-am and team competitions)
  • And, the PGA of America reserves the right to invite additional players not included in the categories listed above. The total field will be a maximum of 150 players.
