SCHEDULE OF PLAY: Stroke-play, four rounds of 18 holes. Following the first 36 holes of play, the field will be cut to the low 60 scorers and any ties, and any player within 10 strokes of the leader. In case of a tie after 72 holes, an 18-hole playoff will be held on Monday, June 19. If this playoff results in a tie, the tied players will immediately continue to play off hole by hole until the winner is determined.

EXEMPTIONS FROM LOCAL AND SECTIONAL QUALIFYING:

  • U.S. Open Champions of the last 10 years (1990-1999)
  • 1999 U.S. Amateur Champion (if still an amateur)
  • Winners of the Masters for the last five years (1996-2000)
  • British Open Champions of the last five years
  • PGA of America Champions of the last five years
  • Winner of the 2000 Players Championship
  • 1999 U.S. Senior Open Champion
  • In the 1999 U.S. Open, the 15 lowest scorers and ties
  • 30 leaders on 1999 PGA Tour official money-winners list
  • Top 15 money-winners from the 1999 PGA European Tour Order of Merit list
  • 10 leaders on the 2000 PGA Tour official money-winners list through May 28
  • Any multiple winner of PGA Tour co-sponsored events whose victories are considered official from April 22, 1999 through June 4, 2000
  • The top 20 point leaders in the year-end (1999) world ranking
  • From the 2000 PGA European Tour Order of Merit, the top two money leaders through May 29
  • Exemptions to international players as awarded by the USGA Executive Committee
  • Special exemptions as awarded by the USGA Executive Committee
