Parnevik in the Lead by Two

Jesper Parnevik in the lead by 2 strokes through the 5th hole with –19 for the tournament.

Second place is currently held by Mark Calcavecchia (-17), but not far behind are Craig Perks and Geoff Ogilvy both tied for third at –16.

Ogilvy Pulls Ahead of Parnevik

Tournament Update 4:00pm

Geoff Ogilvy, from Melbourne, Australia, pulls ahead of Jesper Parnevik from Sweden by one stroke through the 11th Hole at The Honda Classic.

Second place is now shared by Parnevik and Craig Perks both at 18 under for the tournament.

Parnevik Captures His First Win of 2001

Jesper Parnevik gains his first win of 2001 at the The Honda Classic with a score of 72. With a winner’s check of $761,876, Parnevik now exceeds the $7 million mark in career money. In addition to Parnevik becoming the fifth player to win The Honda Classic as a resident of Florida, he becomes the first Swedish born player to win five PGA TOUR titles.

Mark Calcavecchia lips out his final putt, which would have put him in to a playoff with Parnevik.

Parnevik Leads at 15 Under

Jesper Parnevik still in the lead at 15 under par at The Honda Classic. Geoff Ogilvy is in second at 12 under and Shaun Micheel, Skip Kendall and Brad Faxon are tied for third each at 11 under.

Ty Tryon chipped it in on 18 for a final score of 70…6 under for the tournament.

Parnevik Shares the Lead with Calcavecchia

Mark Calcavecchia jumps in to the lead with Parnevik at 16 under through 16.

Geoff Ogilvy starts the day in ninth place and is now tied for third. Ogilvy makes a move to position himself for his first professional win.

Huston with early morning lead

Tournament Update as of 12:00 p.m.

John Huston is in the clubhouse with a 5-under-par for the day landing him in the early morning lead at 9-under. Huston haas had five victories in the state of Florida and his last win was at the 2000 Tampa Bay Classic where he birdied three of the last four holes the final round.

Craig Perks is at his heels in second place with four holes to go at 8-under-par.
