Canizares reverses fortune at Kaanapali

When Jose Maria Canizares said there was a difference between his first two rounds at the Kaanapali Classic, he wasn't kidding.

After shooting a solid 68 Friday, the 54-year-old Spaniard came within a stroke of the Senior PGA Tour record with a 61 Saturday to vault into the lead with some breathing room.

Jim Thorpe won his second straight tournament, shooting a 6-under 66 on Sunday for a two-stroke victory in the Senior PGA Tour's Gold Rush Classic.

Thorpe, who won the Transamerica Championship last week for his first senior title, finished with a 21-under 195 total, the lowest score this year. He also set a tournament record last week.
