Senior Tour: MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (Nov. 3) -- Allen Doyle said his five-stroke lead in the Senior Tour Championship wouldn't last. Jose Maria Canizares took only six holes Friday to prove Doyle right.

The Spaniard had an eagle and three birdies on his first six holes to pass Doyle and everybody else for a one-stroke lead halfway through the season-ending event at the new TPC at Myrtle Beach.

Pair of eagles lifts leader to top of board

Senior Tour: MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (Nov. 2) -- Allen Doyle had a pair of eagles to help build a 5-stroke lead Thursday after the first round of the Senior Tour Championship. Doyle's 8-under 64 put him ahead of a group of six golfers tied for second that included Larry Nelson, trying to complete the Senior Tour's first $3 million season.

Two-time defending champion Joe Inman shot a 3-under-par 68 today and maintained a two-stroke lead over Mike McCullough after two rounds of the SBC Senior Classic.

Inman is trying to become the fifth player in Senior PGA Tour history to win the same tournament three consecutive years.

McCullough's 68 left him at 7-under 135, one stroke in front of Larry Nelson, who a 64, Jim Thorpe, who had a 66, and Stewart Ginn, who had a 67.

Joe Inman won the SBC Senior Classic for the third straight year Sunday, shooting a 6-under-par 65 in rainy conditions for a three-stroke victory over Larry Nelson.

Inman birdied five of the final nine holes in a bogey-free round on the Wilshire Country Club course. He finished with a 15-under 198 total, and earned $210,000.

"I made a great birdie on the fourth hole and chipped in from 25 feet on the 11th hole," Inman said.

Hawaiian breeze for Irwin

Senior Tour: After the normal Hawaiian breezes blew him into unfamiliar territory at even par after the first day of the EMC2 Kaanapali Classic, Hale Irwin recovered on the weekend. As the trade winds subsided, Irwin shot rounds of 62-65 to win his Senior PGA Tour record-tieing 29th tournament.
