Bjorn moves up in latest World Golf Rankings

Thomas Bjorn won the Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday thanks to Tiger Woods double-bogeying the 18th hole. With the victory, Bjorn jumped four places to 14th in the latest World Golf Rankings.

Woods, who lost for only the fourth time in his career after owning a piece of the lead heading into Sunday, remained atop the latest rankings followed by Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els.

BUY.COM Cuts Jobs and Sues the PGA TOUR

The World Golf League has commenced its second year of operation, with the concept of amateur players playing for money.

“It was my belief that given the opportunity to play for money, amateurs would opt for that opportunity and give up their amateur status, because it means nothing to lose it for 99.7 percent of the golf population.

Those amateurs are never going to participate in a USGA sanctioned amateur event,” remarked Michael S. Pagnano, Founder/CEO of The World Golf League, Inc.
