Holy Hanna! Unknown leads in Tucson
Updated: 03/09/01
TUCSON, Ariz. (March 8) -- Jen Hanna beat par in just 17 rounds last year. Three of them came at the Welch's-Circle K Championship.

Small wonder that the bad memories of a so-so rookie season and a tough start to 2001 evaporated as soon as she teed off Thursday at the Randolph Park North municipal course. "When you see every putt going in, how can you not feel like you're in a zone?"

Hanna Hanging on at Welch's
Updated: 03/09/01
TUCSON, Ariz. (March 9) -- Jen Hanna is no one-day wonder.

The second-year LPGA Tour pro, stalled midway through her round, birdied three of the last six holes for a 4-under 68 that kept her two shots ahead of defending champion Annika Sorenstam at the midpoint of the Welch's-Circle K Championship.

Hanna's second straight bogey-free round followed an opening 63, which tied the Tucson record for a first-round score, and left her 13-under at 131.

Delasin: Destiny's Child
Updated: 03/08/01
Dorothy Delasin's cousin calls her "the ghetto superstar," a reference to her making her way to the fairways of the LPGA Tour from the not-always fair ways of San Francisco's gritty Mission and Richmond districts --not her limited talent as a karaoke singer.

Still no Titleholders
Updated: 03/08/01
An old dream seemed to be coming true. First, there was some buzz about the LPGA Tour returning to the Augusta, Ga., area after 35 years. Then a sponsor stepped forward, a quality golf course was selected and a date was lined up on the tour's calendar. Inevitably, talk of the Titleholders returning to the LPGA's schedule made sense.
