Phil Mickelson, the third-ranked player in the world who won four times on the PGA TOUR in 2000, heads the list of early commitments for the 30th Anniversary edition of The Honda Classic, which will be played March 5-11 at the Tournament Players Club at Heron Bay.

Monday, February 26, 2001-- 34, four man teams teed off at the annual Ferguson Enterprise Corporate Cup at the Honda Classic. The TPC Heron Bay course was in beautiful shape despite a lack of rain.

Aussie upstarts Baddeley, Scott awarded exemptions

Continuing its tradition of showcasing the bright young stars in golf, the Honda Classic has awarded exemptions to Australian upstarts Aaron Baddeley and Adam Scott to play in the 2001 tournament.

Baddeley, 19, has won twice recently in Australia, outdueling Sergio Garcia in a playoff to win the Greg Norman Holden Invitational after successfully defending his title at the Australian Open, which he first won as an amateur in 1999.
