Tournament Update as of 2:00 p.m.

After a most beautiful morning, Jesper Parnevik posted a 65, 7-under-par for the lead. "It was definitely day to shoot a low score," added Parnevik, when referring to windless conditions. Although his driver didn't perform as anticipated, Jesper relied on dead aim accuracy with his irons and putter.

Parnevik is looking for his first win in 2001 after coming off a two-win season and hip surgery last year.

Tournament Update as of 5:30 p.m.

Jesper Parnevik, Geoff Ogilvy, and Ben Ferguson found themselves atop the leaderboard at the end of play Thursday with a 7-under-par 65. This three-way tie was produced in part by the superb course conditions and only a bit of breeze to counter the sweltering sun.

Geoff Ogilvy and Ben Ferguson have a lot in common. Not only do they have the same score at the end of the first round of the Honda Classic but they are also rookies on the PGA TOUR and originally from Australia.
